The way of love is not
a subtle argument.
The door there is devastation.
Birds make great sky-circles
of their freedom.

How do they learn that?
They fall, and falling,
they’re given wings. ~ Rumi

Rainy Day

On this rainy day I like to lie in bed and hibernate
Sometimes though that is not possible
So I get up
Cup of tea
Pass on these little Santa helpers
Life is good

1 lb large strawberries
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3-4 Tablespoons powdered sugar (or sugar substitute - to taste)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  • 1Rinse strawberries and cut around the top of the strawberry. Remove the top, (enough for the hat).
  • 2Clean out the whole strawberry with a paring knife, if necessary (some of them are hollow already. Prep all of the strawberries and set aside.
  • 3In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Add cream cheese mix to a piping bag. Fill the strawberries with cheesecake mixture.
  • 4Once strawberries are filled, top with the ‘hats’. Decorate according to photo.
  • 5Service immediately or refrigerate until serving.

Happy Birthday Mahlia

Little Mahlia, who is turning 1 tomorrow.
We are truely blessed to have her in our lives.
Her laughter, her surprise, the way she looks around,
one look says it all.
What can I say
THANK YOU - we are truly blessed

Be yourself

Everyone else is already taken

Windmill Block

For me - I am still learning - this time the following quilting blocks

You think the Windmill Block might be easy - but unless you are focused you will be putting one or more triangles the wrong way. Also there are different kinds of Windmill blocks around.
Here is how it is done..

Make 1/2 square triangle units.
Lay them out on the table next o you
Sew one row at a time
Add the rows together

There is lots of free information on how to size the triangle on the internet.
Have Fun

Fantastic way to use up your scraps

Emotional quilting

  I get so made sometimes
I sew the Asterisk Block - thoughts flying in all directions, but harmony is just around the corner

Now I am getting a bit more focused
I sew the Chunky Chevron Block

What happened?
I create the Balkan Puzzle Block

Harmony is back - I am creating in Harmony
String Block and Broken Spiderweb Block

How do I so get angry?
I STOP
It is what and how it is - Kai told me so
Out of the head into the heart.
I am grateful to be me.
Good night - sleep tight - don't let the bedbugs bite

Looking forward to a lot more sewing tomorrow
